Food Photography & Set-Styling in Amsterdam: Minimalist and Vibrant Visuals for Mexican Delivery
We worked with Arredondos, a Mexican food delivery service in Amsterdam, the Netherlands to refresh their brand visuals. The project involved creating minimalist, colorful, and vibrant food and drink photography to update their website, social media, and ads, capturing the essence of Mexican cuisine.
Using precise styling and focused food photography, we developed a cohesive set of standardized product images for key pages, ensuring alignment with their brand’s colors and aesthetics. The project also included a promotional video designed for digital ads and cinema screenings, broadening Arredondos' marketing reach.

She was meticulous in planning and you felt like she had the greatest command of all elements of the shoot and really put forward a point of view for the whole look and feel of our ecommerce, not just being technically/artfully focused on the photos per se. Her planning ensured every minute of our shoot was used to make fabulous photos. She had a magician’s touch for photo composition, angle lighting, touch ups - all the key elements to make it sing. She also produced a great video ad for us.
She is incredibly hard working and easy to work with. Would absolutely recommend.

What is Food Photography?
Food photography is a specialized branch of still-life and product photography that focuses on creating visually stunning images of food. Often used in advertisements, magazines, packaging, menus, and cookbooks, it is a key tool for showcasing the beauty and appeal of dishes.
Professional food photography is a collaborative process involving a photographer and a food stylist, working together to highlight textures, vibrant colors, and the story behind each dish.
In advertising, food photography often emphasizes the most enticing aspects of a dish—sometimes exaggerating its appeal—to attract attention and drive sales.
Why Should I Hire a Professional Food Photographer?
While anyone can snap a quick shot, professional food photographers bring experience, top-notch equipment, and an eye for detail. They know how to use lighting, angles, and composition to make food look irresistible. Professional photos build trust with customers, enhance branding, and are essential for impactful advertising.
What Does a Food Photographer Do?
A food photographer’s job goes beyond simply clicking a button. They create mouthwatering visuals by mastering light, composition, and framing to ensure the final shot is flawless. From selecting the perfect angle to controlling reflections on shiny surfaces, every detail is handled with care to produce magazine-quality images.
What is Food Styling?
Food styling is the art of preparing food for the camera. Stylists cook, plate, and arrange dishes to make them look their best. They choose props like cutlery or table settings to create the desired mood. Together, the stylist and photographer make food look so good you can almost taste it.
What is the Price for Food Photography?
The cost of food photography depends on the project’s scope, including the number of images, styling needs, and usage rights. Simple shoots like packshots may start at a few hundred euros, while larger campaigns with custom styling can range into several thousand euros.
There are two main ways to budget a food photography project:
- Per Hour: Ideal for smaller projects where you pay for the time spent on shooting and basic editing.
- Per Project: A flat rate for larger or more complex shoots, covering the entire scope, including styling and advanced editing.
What Types of Food Photography Are There?
- Packshots: Clean, simple product photos for e-commerce or packaging.
- Advertising Photos: Creative images for ads, billboards, and promotions.
- Editorial/Mood Shots: Styled photos that tell a story, perfect for blogs and magazines.
- Recipe Photos: Step-by-step images or final dishes for cookbooks or websites.
- Lifestyle Shots: Photos of people enjoying food, making it feel relatable and real.
Local Food Photographer or From Far?
Working with a local food photographer has several advantages, such as easier coordination, understanding the local market, and saving on travel costs. However, sometimes clients choose a specific photographer for their unique style or expertise in capturing stunning food visuals.
While we’re based in Eindhoven, we’re passionate about collaborating on exciting projects and are happy to travel for food photography assignments. Whether you need a food photographer in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, or anywhere else in the Netherlands—or even abroad—we’re ready to bring your vision to life.
