Creative Cosmetics Product Photography for Bee Bella

A focused visual update for a natural lip balm brand, combining flavour-led art direction, studio photography and detailed post-production to create memorable content for ecommerce, social media and exhibition materials.

Project Overview

Bee Bella approached us to refresh the visual presentation of its natural lip balms and create new branded content around approximately five flavours. Instead of producing a traditional ecommerce catalogue, the project focused entirely on creative cosmetics product photography. Each composition was developed to express a particular flavour through colour, ingredients, movement and atmosphere.

The Challenge

Bee Bella needed updated visuals to better highlight each flavour and attract attention

Lip balm packaging is compact and visually consistent across a collection. The challenge was therefore to give every product its own character without losing the recognisable identity of the brand.

The images also needed to work beyond social media. They had to remain detailed and versatile enough for ecommerce pages, printed brochures and large-format banners used at natural cosmetics exhibitions.

Project Objectives

The project focused on three goals:

  1. Refresh the brand’s existing visual content.

  2. Translate individual flavours into distinctive creative compositions.

  3. Produce versatile assets suitable for both digital and printed marketing.

Photography Strategy

Turning Flavours into Visual Stories

Each photograph was built around the sensory associations of a particular lip balm.

Mint leaves introduced freshness and movement. Cherries created a richer, more playful atmosphere, while lavender brought softness and a botanical quality to the compositions.

Rather than using ingredients only as decoration, they became part of the visual language of the collection. Colour, lighting, surfaces and props were selected to make each flavour immediately recognisable while keeping the lip balm as the main subject.

Creative Cosmetics Photography Without AI

Some of the final scenes required effects that could not be completed entirely during the shoot.

Floating mint leaves, cherries, lavender and other elements were created through traditional studio photography and detailed compositing. Individual elements were photographed, selected and combined manually during post-production.

This approach provided precise control over composition, perspective, shadows and movement while preserving the authentic appearance of the products and ingredients. No AI-generated imagery was used.

Remote Product Photography

The entire project was completed remotely, with the products shipped directly to the studio.

Remote product photography allows cosmetics brands to select a photographer according to creative vision and experience rather than location. Products can be photographed, retouched and delivered digitally without requiring the client to attend the production.

Clear communication and an agreed visual direction ensure that the process remains convenient while giving brands access to specialised creative production across borders.

The Solution

The final collection consisted of ten carefully developed creative photographs covering approximately five Bee Bella flavours.

Although compact, the image library was planned to support several applications:

  • Creative visuals for product and ecommerce pages.

  • Branded content for social media.

  • Promotional imagery for brochures.

  • High-resolution photographs for natural cosmetics exhibitions and banners.

Each image was fully retouched and prepared to maintain its visual impact across both digital and printed formats.

Results

The Project Outcome

The project gave Bee Bella a focused set of distinctive visual assets that refreshed the brand’s presentation and made the individual flavours easier to recognise.

The photographs were used across ecommerce, social media, printed brochures and exhibition materials. The client continued using the images long after the original production, extending the value of a relatively small but carefully planned content library.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • 01
Can cosmetics products be shipped to the photographer?

Yes. Cosmetics, skincare and other compact products can be shipped directly to the studio. The creative direction, production and image review can then be managed remotely.

  • 02
How are floating ingredients created without AI?

Elements such as leaves, flowers and fruit can be photographed separately and combined through professional compositing. Shadows, perspective and movement are refined manually to make the final scene feel natural.

  • 03
Can creative product shots be created using AI?

Yes. We work with advanced AI technologies and offer AI-enhanced creative production as an option. This can include combining real product photography with AI-generated elements or environments to achieve concepts that would be difficult or time-consuming to produce physically.

We always base the visuals on real product photographs to ensure accuracy and consistency, while AI can be used to expand creative possibilities when it aligns with the project goals and brand direction.

  • 04
Is creative cosmetics photography suitable for ecommerce?

Creative images work well for landing pages, banners, product highlights and branded sections of an ecommerce store. Standard catalogue packshots can be produced separately when required by the platform.

  • 05
Can a small photoshoot provide enough marketing content?

Yes. A focused selection of strong images can support several channels when the compositions and final formats are planned in advance. The required number depends on the product range and content strategy rather than brand size alone.

  • 06
Can the same images be used online and in print?

Yes, provided their intended applications are discussed before production. High-resolution files can be prepared for brochures, displays and exhibition banners alongside versions optimised for websites and social media.
